Editorial Policy

This page explains how CalcMyCard’s calculators and guides are built, reviewed, and kept accurate.

Our sourcing standards

Statistics cited in our guides — average interest rates, credit utilization thresholds, and general credit scoring behavior — are sourced from publicly available data published by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Reserve, and major credit bureaus’ published methodology documents. We link to primary sources where practical and update figures as new data is released.

How our calculators are built

Every calculator uses standard, well-documented interest and amortization formulas — the same category of math used by major financial calculator sites and, in simplified form, by credit card issuers themselves. Our full methodology, including the specific formulas used, is detailed on our Methodology page.

Independence

CalcMyCard does not accept payment from credit card issuers, lenders, or credit unions to influence calculator results, rankings, or editorial content. Any advertising on this site is served independently and does not influence the accuracy or content of our calculators or guides.

Corrections

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us with details. We review correction requests and update content promptly when an error is confirmed.

Review cadence

Guides referencing rate data or statistics are reviewed at least annually, and sooner when significant rate environment changes occur (such as a Federal Reserve rate change cycle). The “last updated” date on each page reflects our most recent review.
